Position Description

Neurology RN – Neuromusculoskeletal Unit (Travel Contract)

Location: URMC – Rochester, NY

Start Date: 21st July 2025

End Date: 18th October 2025

Shifts: Rotating Days/Evenings/Nights (including weekends & holidays as needed)

Hours: 36 hours/week guaranteed (12-hour shifts, 3 days/week)

Optional Overtime: Up to 48 hours/week at straight time

Pay:

  • 36 hours/week: Approx. $2,550/week take-home
  • 48 hours/week: Approx. $3,171/week take-home
  • Openings Remaining: 2
  • Unit: Neuromusculoskeletal – SMH Level 2 RN 516 Neurology

Overview:

URMC is seeking experienced Neurology RNs for its Neuromusculoskeletal unit, a dynamic and fast-paced setting within one of New York’s top academic medical centers. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team caring for patients with complex neurological conditions such as stroke, epilepsy, MS, and Guillain-Barré Syndrome.

As a designated Comprehensive Stroke Center and the region’s only Level 4 Epilepsy Monitoring Unit, URMC offers advanced technology including continuous video EEG monitoring and telemetry. Ideal for nurses looking to deepen their neurology and critical care expertise.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality care to patients with neurological disorders
  • Monitor patients using telemetry and video EEG systems
  • Collaborate with neurology specialists and allied health teams
  • Support patients through diagnosis, treatment, and recovery in a high-acuity environment
  • Participate in on-call, charge, weekend, and holiday coverage as required by the unit

Requirements:

  • Active New York State RN license
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience
  • Telemetry experience required
  • BLS certification (AHA only)
  • NIHSS certification highly preferred
