ARE YOU READY FOR THE JANUARY 1 HOSPITAL CLINICAL STAFFING COMMITTEES REQUIREMENTS?
Posted over 3 years ago by Ann Harrington
A reminder to our hospital-based members: the statutory requirement to establish a hospital clinical staffing committee is scheduled to take effect on Jan. 1, 2022.
NYONEL and HANYS have organized and posted New York state-specific resources, including a readiness assessment checklist, frequently asked questions, staff education materials, presentations and other tools, and templates that your hospital can customize to meet the new requirements established in law.
Hospitals are encouraged to customize these tools and templates when creating clinical staffing committees in accordance with NYS Public Health Law § 2805-t. At a minimum, hospitals should consider having the following documents in place by January 1 to demonstrate compliance with the requirement to establish a committee by that date:
- committee charter;
- committee membership roster; and
- schedule of meetings for 2022.
Make sure you are ready for Jan. 1 — visit the NYONEL Clinical Staffing Committees Resources page of our website today!
HANYS and NYONEL are committed to supporting hospitals through implementation of the committees in the coming year. Please contact us for questions or additional support.
