Advocacy News and Alert: NYONEL opines on the R.E.S.P.E.C.T. for Nurses Act A7128A Gunther-S8175A Reichlin-Melnick

This bill would enact the Recruit, Empower, Support, Pay, Educate, Connect and Train (RESPECT) Nurses act. It would provide education and workforce funding in order to increase the number of nurses in New York. In addition, it provides for regulatory relaxation to promote nurses working to top of education and licensure, and addresses academic-practice partnership facilitation.
The NYONEL position statement (attached), in support with one point of concern, has been sent to the Higher Education Committee members in both chambers, and to Senator Reichlin-Melnick. Here are links to committee membership:
