HAPPY NURSES WEEK! NYONEL President's Message

Posted almost 3 years ago

This year’s Nurses Week theme “Nurses Make a Difference: Respected, Trusted, Appreciated” resonates perfectly as we enter our third year of the pandemic.  We have made such a difference in the lives of our patients and their families with perseverance through multiple waves of the pandemic as well as other medical challenges that remain.

Nicolette Fiore-Lopez, PhD, RN, CENP
NYONEL President

We are there when life begins to share the joy of birth with jubilant families.  We are there at the final hours to share the grief with families as they navigate all that surrounds the end of life.  And we are there for everything in between, from devastating diagnoses, to resounding successful treatments and even the realization of limited treatment options.

Through it all, countless numbers of patients and families rely on us and our staff as we support them through it all.  It is a privilege and honor to be able to make a difference as the most respected, trusted and appreciated profession.

As Donna Cardillo writes “It’s impossible to know how many lives you touched, saved, or improved in nursing.  But always know that the world is a better place for you having been in it.”  YOU HAVE MADE A DIFFERENCE.

Thank you for all that you do.

Happy Nurses Week!
