Governor Hochul extends Executive Order 4.20

Governor Hochul issued Executive Order 4.21 today. This extends the declaration of a state emergency due to healthcare staffing shortages. All provisions of EO 4.20 are included in EO 4.21. The expiration date is June 8th and coincides with the end of the legislative session. 

NYONL and HANYS strongly advocated for this extension. The legislature continues to consider bills that will address workforce needs and flexibilities. 

It is not anticipated that the EO will be extended again.
